I graduated with a Master of Social Work degree from The Florida State University in 1990.  After moving to Raleigh in 1993, I received licensure from the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.  Prior to establishing my own practice in 2001, I worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals offering psychiatric and substance abuse treatment, an intensive outpatient program and a group psychiatric practice.
